Brandt Magic
ARTIST PHOTOGRAPHER PRINTMAKER BROADCAST & GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Printmaking
In college at Indiana University I studied photography and printmaking (etching and lithography. I studied photography with Henry Holmes Smith and printmaking with Rudy Pozzatti. I wanted to learn screenprinting but there was no class offered although there was a printshop.
I made an arrangement with Kathleen and Colleen Kenyon who were graduate students. I helped them do the darkroom work to create halftone based photo negatives and they taught me photo-screenprinting. The two images pictured are the original color photography I used and the finished halftone based screenprint I made from it.

Screenprinting
After college I moved to Florida. I set up a darkroom and a silkscreen studios first in a rented house, then at Maitland Art Center, Crealde School of Art, and at another rented house. I taught screenprinting, photography and drawing. I also actively make screenprints which I sold at outdoor art festivals.
I received several commissions to do portraits; and had clients for whom I did posters and graphic design.
